Ranchi, July 19 -- Jharkhand is set to establish its first Film and Television Institute with the Jharkhand Film Development Corporation Ltd (JFDCL) signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata, on July 22.

The MoU will be signed at Project Bhawan in the presence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, according to JFDCL.

Under the agreement, SRFTI, an institute under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, will provide academic support for setting up the institute, including curriculum design, faculty support and technical guidance. JFDCL will be responsible for developing the infrastructure and implementing the project.
