Ranchi, July 16 -- Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday announced that a grand gateway (toran dwar) would be constructed on the approach road to the historic Jagannathpur Temple in Ranchi to enhance its identity and promote it as a major religious tourism destination.
Addressing devotees during the Jagannathpur Rath Yatra celebrations at Dhurwa, Soren said the state government would take steps to strengthen the temple's presence on the tourism map and further develop the annual fair.
Earlier, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and the Chief Minister offered prayers to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra and wished peace, prosperity and well-being for the people of the state.
