Ranchi, May 21 -- Jharkhand Rural Development, Rural Works and Panchayati Raj Minister Dipika Pandey Singh on Thursday stressed the need for effective implementation of the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act (PESA) Rules, 2025, saying the focus must now shift to ensuring their reach at the village level.

Addressing a state-level workshop organised by the Panchayati Raj Department at Project Bhawan, the minister said the implementation of PESA in Jharkhand after 25 years was a significant step towards strengthening traditional gram sabhas and local self-governance in Scheduled Areas.
