Ranchi, Aug. 6 -- The opposition NDA on Thursday staged a protest in the Jharkhand Assembly premises ahead of the opening of the Monsoon Session, demanding Chief Minister Hemant Soren's resignation over the alleged irregularities in JPSC and JSSC recruitment examinations.

Led by Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, BJP legislators raised slogans, displayed placards supporting the agitating students and reiterated their demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the alleged irregularities. They also sought cancellation of the 14th JPSC preliminary examination.

During the Assembly proceedings, opposition members wore masks as a mark of protest and continued raising the JPSC issue inside the House.
