Ranchi, June 3 -- Rural Development Minister Dipika Pandey Singh on Wednesday launched a marketing initiative linking mango growers in Gumla district with retail chain Apna Mart to improve market access and farm incomes.
Under the initiative facilitated by the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS), Apna Mart procured two tonnes of Amrapali mangoes from MVM Baghima Palkot Farmer Producer Company Limited (FPO) in the first phase, with further purchases planned in the coming season.
According to JSLPS, the programme aims to ensure better returns for farmers associated with mango orchards developed under the Birsa Harit Gram Yojana.
