Ranchi, June 30 -- The Jharkhand High Court has upheld the eviction of a petitioner from a disputed raiyati land in Godda district, holding that he failed to establish continuous possession as required under the Santhal Pargana Tenancy (Supplementary Provisions) Act, 1949.
Dismissing W.P.(C) No. 3922 of 2012, Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi affirmed the order of the Commissioner, Santhal Pargana Division, which had restored the eviction order passed by the Sub-Divisional Officer after setting aside the Deputy Commissioner's decision in favour of the petitioner.
