Ranchi, March 11 -- The Jharkhand High Court has ordered a CBI probe into a case registered against certain officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) following an FIR lodged by a money laundering accused.

The order was passed by the bench of Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi, which held that an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation would be appropriate to ensure a fair probe in the matter.

The case arose after Santosh Kumar, an accused in a money laundering case, filed an FIR against some ED officials.

Following the complaint, Ranchi police conducted a search at the ED's local office, after which the central agency approached the High Court challenging the action and seeking transfer of the investigation to the CBI.
