Ranchi, April 23 -- BJP Jharkhand president Aditya Sahu on Thursday accused Chief Minister Hemant Soren of misleading voters over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Sahu said Soren was creating confusion among voters by alleging that the process would deprive tribals, locals and backward classes of voting rights and welfare benefits.

He said the revision exercise is part of the Election Commission's routine process to ensure that eligible voters are included and ineligible names are removed from the rolls.

Sahu said such revisions have been conducted multiple times in the past and added that the exercise is carried out by the Election Commission without political interference.
