Ranchi, June 11 -- : Jharkhand's folk and tribal performing arts traditions have received national recognition with three artistes from the state being selected for prestigious honours announced by the Sangeet Natak Akademi for 2024 and 2025.
According to the list released by the National Academy of Music, Dance and Drama, New Delhi, folk artistes Butan Devi and Sombari Devi have been selected jointly for the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award 2024 in the Folk Dance category for Jharkhand.
In the youth category, Babita Hembram has been selected for the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2025 for her contribution to Tribal Dance.
