Ramgarh, June 30 -- A Sub-Registrar posted in Giridih was allegedly beaten to death over a land dispute at Simaria Tand under Mandu police station limits in Jharkhand's Ramgarh district on Tuesday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Baleshwar Patel.
Police said he sustained serious injuries during a clash over a piece of land and was taken to a private hospital on Ranchi Road, where doctors declared him dead.
According to police, the incident occurred when two groups clashed over ownership of a plot at Simaria Tand.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the dispute turned violent, resulting in Patel sustaining fatal injuries.
