Ranchi, June 22 -- JMM founder and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren will be conferred the Padma Bhushan posthumously, with his wife Roopi Soren set to receive the award on his behalf at a ceremony in New Delhi on Tuesday.
According to JMM general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya, President Droupadi Murmu will present the award. Kalpana Soren is also expected to be present at the ceremony.
Popularly known as "Guruji", Shibu Soren was one of the principal architects of the Jharkhand movement and played a key role in the struggle for a separate state.
He also served as Chief Minister of Jharkhand on three occasions.
Soren passed away on August 4, 2025, at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi.
