Ranchi, Sept. 26 -- Heavy rain in Ranchi on Saturday raised water levels in Kanke, Getalsud and Hatia dams, prompting authorities to regulate water discharge.
Two gates of the Rukka-Getalsud dam were opened by four inches each around 8 am on Saturday after its water level reached 34.3 feet against its 36-foot capacity.
Rukka-Getalsud dam assistant engineer John Bodra said the two gates were opened by four inches each due to the rise in water level.
Bodra said this was the third time this monsoon that the gates of the Rukka-Getalsud dam had been opened.
