Ranchi, June 2 -- Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi today alleged that the Jharkhand liquor scam was carried out under political patronage and involved a nexus between liquor operators and persons close to those in power.
In a post on social media platform X, Marandi claimed that the alleged scam was not merely a case of corruption but an organised economic offence that had caused substantial losses to the state exchequer.
Referring to the Enforcement Directorate's investigation, he alleged that central agencies were continuing to uncover details related to the case and that efforts to suppress the matter would not succeed.
