Ranchi, Sept. 21 -- The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is set to step up surveillance and action against illegal coal mining, theft and transportation in Jharkhand under a zero coal leakage policy.
The strategy will focus on monitoring activities ranging from illegal mining and coal theft to unauthorised transportation, with trained dog squads to assist surveillance in sensitive coalfields, forest areas and other suspected locations.
The CISF will also strengthen coordination with local administration, police and other security agencies for effective implementation of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, particularly in cases involving illegal mining and diversion of coal.
