Ranchi, Oct. 25 -- Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K. Ravi Kumar has directed the organisation of special camps at the panchayat and ward levels across the state. This initiative is designed to accelerate the ancestral mapping of voters in preparation for the upcoming comprehensive revision of electoral rolls.

Kumar instructed all District Electoral Officers to ensure these camps are held in both rural and urban areas to expedite the process.

The CEO emphasised that the primary objective of ancestral mapping is to accurately and efficiently align the current voter list with the 2003 electoral roll. This process will ultimately reduce the number of documents voters need to submit during the revision.
