Ranchi, Sept. 15 -- The BJP and Congress in Jharkhand faced off on Tuesday over the MMDR Amendment Act, with the ruling alliance announcing a street-to-Supreme Court battle against the legislation.

Jharkhand Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore, who has termed the amended law a "black law" for the state, said the ruling JMM-Congress-RJD alliance would launch a public movement and pursue the matter legally.

Kishore alleged that the BJP lacked internal democracy and its leaders in BJP-ruled states were not opposing the legislation.

He also accused BJP leaders of repeating the Centre's position without independent views.
