Patna, March 6 -- Senior leader of Janata Dal (United) and the party's chief spokesperson Neeraj Kumar on Friday said that the decision of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to contest the Rajya Sabha election has naturally caused concern among party workers and the public.

Speaking to media persons ahead of the JD-U legislature party meeting in Patna, Neeraj Kumar said that Nitish Kumar enjoys immense public trust and that strengthening this trust remains a challenge.

"Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is also the national president of the party. Filing nomination for the Rajya Sabha is within his authority, but party MPs, MLAs and MLCs are politically apprehensive and disturbed over the development," he said.
