Dhanbad, Feb. 11 -- The Jharkhand Colliery Mazdoor union (JCMU), affiliated to CITU, has served a formal notice of strike on Coal India Limited (CIL) and its subsidiaries, proposing a one-day nationwide strike on February 12, Thursday.
The notice, issued under Section 22(1) of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, was addressed to the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of CIL at its Kolkata headquarters.
In the notice, the union opposed the implementation of the four Labour Codes and raised a charter of demands related to wage revision, restructuring, and workers' benefits in the coal sector.
