Chandigarh, July 16 -- union Minister Jayant Chaudhary today described Ludhiana as one of India's leading industrial centres, saying the city's strong MSME ecosystem is creating employment opportunities for young people by connecting skilled students with local industries.
Chaudhary was speaking at a programme held at a government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Ludhiana, where appointment letters were distributed to around 1,000 students in the presence of Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Vikramjit Sahney.
Highlighting the role of the manufacturing sector in employment generation, the union Minister said Ludhiana's micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) continue to offer significant opportunities for skilled youth.
