Mumbai, Aug. 27 -- As Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange-Patil marches toward Mumbai with thousands of supporters, political activity has intensified in the state capital.

According to sources, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, head of the Maratha reservation sub-committee, and Minister Uday Samant are expected to meet Jarange before he reaches Mumbai.

The meeting could take place in either Ahmednagar or Pune.

The government is making last-minute efforts to hold talks with Jarange and find a solution before the agitation hits Mumbai.

Officials have appealed to him to resolve the issue through discussions instead of agitating during the festive season.
