Mumbai, Aug. 31 -- Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange-Patil today announced he will stop drinking water from Monday as his indefinite hunger strike at Mumbai's Azad Maidan entered its third day.

The 43-year-old activist said he would escalate his protest after the government failed to respond to the Maratha community's demand for OBC reservation. Speaking at a press conference this afternoon, Jarange asserted that he would not take water from Monday but maintained he would continue his protest until the quota demand is met. He vowed that Marathas would secure reservation under the OBC category and declared he would not leave Mumbai until the demands were fulfilled.
