Agartala, July 8 -- The Additional Sessions Judge in North Tripura convicted a resident of Jammu & Kashmir, after finding him guilty in a drug peddling case, and awarded him 12 years rigorous imprisonment.

According to the judgement, the convict, Manjoor Ahamed Chachi, has also been imposed a fine of Rs 1.5 lakh, and if he fails to pay this amount, he faces an additional six months of Rigorous Imprisonment. He was booked under Sections 20(b) (ii) (C) and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in February 2022.
