Jammu, Feb. 8 -- The Cyber Crime Investigation Centre for Excellence (CICE) wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police in a swift action have cracked a digital arrest fraud case and saved worth lakhs of amount.

The J&K Police spokesman in a statement here on Sunday said that the Police Station CICE Jammu received an online complaint from a retired Air Force officer on February 6 regarding a "Digital Arrest" cyber fraud involving an amount of Rs 52,90,000. The officer remained under "digital arrest" for nine days.

"Acting promptly, the police initiated an investigation, traced beneficiary bank accounts and followed the money trail without delay," he said.
