Srinagar, Sept. 22 -- Government departments and agencies in Jammu and Kashmir have outstanding electricity dues of Rs 4,385.30 crore, with the Public Health Engineering Department accounting for the largest share of the arrears.
In written response to a question by MLA Sajad Lone during the ongoing Autumn Session of the J&K Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister, who is also the Power Minister, said PHE Department has pending dues of Rs 1,476.11 crore, followed by the Irrigation and Flood Control Department at Rs 594.25 crore.
Among central government establishments, the CRPF owes Rs 344.30 crore, while the Army has outstanding dues of Rs 212.75 crore and the Military Engineering Services (MES) owes Rs 89.50 crore.
