Patna, Aug. 3 -- Jan Suraaj leaders Monday expressed confidence after party founder Prashant Kishor maintained a consistent lead in the counting of votes for the Bankipur Assembly by-election, claiming the trend reflected a mandate for change and a rejection of caste- and religion-based politics.
Reacting to the counting trends, Jan Suraaj Bihar unit president Manoj Bharti told a section of media that the people of Bankipur had "broken the walls of caste and religion" by extending support to Kishor across all sections of the constituency.
"The voters from every part of Bankipur have showered their affection on Prashant Kishor. The mandate shows that people want change and have voted against the ruling establishment," Bharti said.
