Chattogram, Nov. 2 -- Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has criticised the BNP for allegedly creating "undesirable" political uncertainty over implementation of the July Charter, warning that the dispute risks disrupting the upcoming national polls in 2026.

In a video message to Chief Advisor Md Yunus on Saturday, Taher said the public wants a general election in February, adding that creation of last-minute controversies over the Charter would undermine the electoral process, as per state media.

"Creating uncertainty right before the polls will disrupt the electoral process," he said.
