Chandigarh, June 26 -- Jalandhar Police on Friday arrested three residents for allegedly spying for Pakistan-based handlers by sharing sensitive information related to government and security establishments through social media in exchange for money.

Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur said a special team, led by senior officers of the Investigation Wing, carried out the operation and apprehended the three accused, all of whom are residents of Jalandhar. A case has been registered against them under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and further investigation is underway.
