New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh on Friday called for an immediate review of the E20 ethanol-blending policy, accusing the Narendra Modi government of pursuing a "short-sighted and anti-people" approach that was increasing the burden on consumers through higher food prices and concerns over vehicle mileage and compatibility.
In a post on social media platform X, Ramesh said the consequences of the policy were being felt "on the roads and in the kitchen", as he questioned the diversion of sugarcane and food grains for ethanol production.
