Mumbai, April 9 -- The widow of one of the victims of the July 2023 Jaipur-Mumbai train shooting case, has moved the sessions court to revoke a recent order directing the dismissed RPF constable Chetan Singh Chaudhary, be transferred to Thane mental hospital for a fresh evaluation, a lawyer said here today.
The widow of the victim Asghar Ali Abbas Shaikh said in a plea filed before the court stated that a District Mental Health Review Board had conducted a comprehensive mental health assessment of Chaudhary and declared him mentally stable and fit to stand trial.
"This report was placed before this honourable court on March 24, 2025. There is, therefore, no legal or factual basis to order a fresh referral," the petitioner said.
