Mumbai, Oct. 11 -- Jain leader Nilesh Chandra Vijay today announced the formation of a new political organisation, titled "Shanti Dutt Jan Kalyan Party", during a religious gathering here.
The party's stated goals include religious preservation, promotion of peace, and public welfare, while representing the broader interests of the Gujarati and Marwari communities alongside the Jain community.
Vijay described the Jain community as among the nation's highest tax-paying and most peace-loving groups, deeply committed to animal welfare and compassion.
He stated that Marathi citizens in Maharashtra are not opposed to pigeons but alleged that the issue is being politicised for ulterior motives.
