Patna, March 16 -- The incarcerated ruling JD(U) MLA from Mokama assembly seat, Anant Singh, cast his vote in the ongoing Rajya Sabha elections after being granted permission by a special court in Patna.
Amid tight security arrangements, Singh was brought from Beur Central Jail Patna to the Bihar Assembly in an ambulance in the forenoon to vote. He was escorted back to the jail after voting under police protection.
Speaking briefly to media, Singh expressed confidence that all five candidates of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would register victory in the election. He also took a swipe at the leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, over his earlier remarks claiming a win for the Grand Alliance.
