Shimla, April 6 -- Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur on Monday, alleged that the government led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has been facing repeated setbacks in courts over the conduct of panchayat elections, after the Himachal Pradesh High Court quashed the state's decision to grant a five per cent quota to Deputy Commissioners in the reservation roster and ordered issuance of a fresh roster.

Thakur said the BJP had opposed the move from the very beginning, terming it unconstitutional and a violation of provisions related to reservation in local bodies under Article 243(D) of the Constitution.
