Thiruvananthapuram, July 18 -- The Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) and the Human Space Flight Centre (HSFC) of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) have strengthened their collaboration in Space Medicine by launching India's first Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme in Bioastronautics, a first-of-its-kind initiative aimed at supporting the country's future human space missions.
The two-year fellowship programme, jointly conducted by SCTIMST and HSFC, will train researchers in Space Medicine and Bioastronautics, focusing on the effects of microgravity, cosmic radiation, isolation and other space conditions on the human body.
