Beirut/Jerusalem, May 12 -- Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon have killed 380 people ever since the ceasefire with Beirut came into effect on April 17 till date, Lebanese Health Minister Rakan Nassereddine said during a press conference today.

Nassereddine said the overall death toll from Israeli strikes since the conflict erupted on March 2 had reached 2,882 people, including 279 women and 200 children.

"Since the ceasefire, 380 people have been killed and 1,122 wounded," he said, reports Gulf News.

Under the terms of the truce announced by the US, Israel retained the right to act against what it described as "planned, imminent or ongoing attacks".
