Jerusalem, July 31 -- Israel has reiterated its opposition to the Hamas approved disarmament framework, insisting there will be no withdrawal of Israeli forces from their current positions in Gaza until the terror group is genuinely disarmed, despite the proposal being welcomed by US President Donald Trump.

In a statement issued on Friday, an anonymous senior Israeli official said "There will be no IDF withdrawal from the current Yellow Line without the genuine disarmament of Hamas."The remarks reinforce Israel's resistance to the US-backed Board of Peace proposal, which Hamas accepted on Thursday. The plan envisages the phased decommissioning of all Hamas weapons alongside a gradual Israeli military withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.
