Tel Aviv/Beirut, April 8 -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced late Tuesday night that while it supports the two-week Pakistan-mediated ceasefire between the US and Iran, the deal did not mention Lebanon or the Iran-sponsored Islamic militant group Hezbollah, with the IDF continuing its operations against the group.
The statement seemingly contradicts an earlier statement issued by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who apparently indicated that the ceasefire would be a comprehensive one, covering the fighting in Lebanon.
