Kolkata, June 28 -- ISKCON Kolkata vice-president, Radharamn Das, has been relieved of all his responsibilities within the organisation, bringing an abrupt end to his role as one of its most prominent public faces.

The decision was communicated to him by the ISKCON authorities last night. With this move, Das has also been directed not to represent or speak on behalf of ISKCON before the media, government authorities or any public forum.

Speaking to reporters, Das said he believes the action may have stemmed from his outspoken public positions on several contentious issues over the past few years.
