Rajgir (Nalanda), Aug. 27 -- Irate villagers today attacked and chased Bihar Rural Development Minister Shrawan Kumar and MLA Krishna Murari alias Prem Mukhiya when they visited Malma village in Nalanda district to meet families of nine accident victims.
The area comes under the home district of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The high-voltage drama unfolded when the villagers vented their anger over the lackadaisical attitude of the administration and non-payment of compensation. Armed with sticks and rods, they chased the Minister and the MLA, forcing them to run nearly a kilometer. The minister had to switch three vehicles before fleeing the spot, local sources said.
