Tehran, Aug. 15 -- Iranian leaders have mocked US President Donald Trump's claim that he would declare the Strait of Hormuz part of US territory, insisting that the strategic waterway will always belong to Tehran.
Iranian judiciary chief Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, dismissing Trump's remarks, told semi-official Tasnim News "The ravings and falsehoods of the criminal president of the United States regarding the Strait of Hormuz stem from the delusions of this feeble-minded individual," adding "In reality, the owner and ruler of this important global waterway is the Islamic Republic of Iran."Trump made the comments at a rally for law enforcement officers in Long Island on Friday, saying he would make the declaration after the US "finish[es] ...
