Tehran, Aug. 25 -- Abbas Golrou, chairman of the Iranian Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee, has said that the US had asked a visiting Pakistani delegation to encourage Iran to return to peace talks amid stalled negotiations.
Golrou said Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, conveyed a message from Washington during his visit to Tehran, urging Iranian officials to return to the memorandum of understanding (MoU) agreed by US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in June.
"The Americans asked the Pakistanis to speak with the Iranian side so that Iran enters the political space and they can move forward together," Golrou told Iran's state-run ISNA news agency.
