Chandigarh, April 8 -- A high-level Iranian delegation, representing the office of Iran's Supreme Leader, visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar on Wednesday to extend a formal invitation to the leadership of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib for a special memorial service in Delhi.
Dr. Mohammad Hussain Zivand, a key member of the delegation, met with SGPC officials to hand over the invitation for an event scheduled for April 12 at the Iran Culture House in the national capital.
The upcoming gathering marks the 40th day of the martyrdom of Iranian leader Hazrat Ayatollah Al-Uzma Sayyid Ali Khamenei.
