Tehran, July 18 -- A confidential directive issued by Iran's Supreme National Security Council has instructed domestic media organisations to restrict reporting on damage to civilian infrastructure as the US is reportedly preparing to expand its military campaign against Iran.
The directive, obtained by Iran International on Friday, was issued a week after the collapse of the Tehran-Washington ceasefire and the resumption of fighting in southern Iran and around the Strait of Hormuz.
It instructs publishers and editors covering attacks on civilian facilities to "refrain from publishing vital information", avoid creating "fear and alarm among the public", and withhold details about the extent of the destruction or its impact on public servi...
