Tehran, Nov. 12 -- Iran's long-running nuclear negotiations were never genuine and were merely part of a stalling tactic to buy the country additional time for fully realising its ambitions of enriching weapons grade uranium for the development of its own nuclear arsenal, said Tehran-based analyst Sadegh Zibakalam.
Zibakalam, a well-known political commentator residing in Tehran, has earned much notoriety with the authorities due to his blunt-outspoken criticism of the Islamic Republic's administration, and has himself faced multiple court cases and periods of detention for criticising the government.
