Tehran, June 30 -- Preparations are underway in Tehran for the state funeral of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, with giant portraits of the deceased Ayatollah now seen dominating the capital's Grand Mosalla complex ahead of ceremonies expected to draw millions of mourners.
The funeral of Khamenei, who was killed at the age of 86 in joint US-Israeli airstrikes on February 28, the opening day of the war, has been delayed for months due to the war which has currently entered a ceasefire.
As such, final rites for the late supreme leader will be held this week from July 4-9.
