Tehran, July 21 -- Iran has continued to carry out retaliatory strikes against US targets in Gulf countries, striking sites in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain and Syria.

According to the Jordanian military, its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed three Iranian ballistic missiles launched towards the country.

"The interception and shootdown operation did not result in any casualties or material damage," the military said in a statement carried by the state-run Petra news agency.

Kuwait said its air defences engaged an incoming barrage and Bahrain's Foreign Ministry condemned Iranian drone attacks targeting the country's air traffic systems, saying they endangered civilian air travel.
