New York, Sept. 27 -- Iran said on Sunday it is awaiting a "definitive" US response through mediators on its proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, despite President Donald Trump rejecting the offer as "unacceptable".
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran has received Trump's public reaction but had yet to receive a formal response through the mediators, leaving the door open for further diplomatic discussions.
"We saw the first reaction from the US president, but nothing has been conveyed to us from the mediators yet," Araghchi said.
