Chennai, March 13 -- Amid panic filling by motorists, who were lining up before fuel outlets, the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) on Friday directed all its Channel Partners not to dispense petrol in bottles, plastic cans and other containers.
Though people have resorted to panic buying petrol in bottles, cans amid threats of short supply due to hit in crude oil productivity in the wake of the ongoing conflict West Asia Region, IOC said the decision not to dispese petrol in loose containers was taken citing public safety.
