Nagpur, June 21 -- : International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Nagpur on Sunday as thousands of citizens participated in a mega yoga session organised jointly by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and the District Administration at Yashwant Stadium.
Mayor Neeta Thakre inaugurated the programme in the presence of senior officials of the civic administration, public representatives, police personnel and yoga practitioners.
The celebration witnessed a series of activities, including a large-scale yoga session, yoga demonstrations by young participants and a special Chakrasana race.
As part of the city police's "Operation Thunder" campaign, participants also took a pledge to stay away from drugs.
