Pune, March 3 -- The Suman Vitthal Mayekar Memorial Sports Award for the Best Woman Sportsperson will be presented this year to national wrestler Krushnai Prashant Wadkar on behalf of the Kokanastha Parivar, Pune, on the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8.
The felicitation ceremony will be held at Nehru Stadium, Pune, a release of the organisers stated on Tuesday.
The award will be presented by sports organiser Mugdha Balasaheb Sane. Kokanastha Parivar chief Sonia Nevrekha will president.
Krushnai Wadkar is currently studying at Fergusson College and practices wrestling at Maharashtra Mandal, Gultekdi under the guidance of Rajendra Kadam. She has also achieved special proficiency in Judo.
