Puducherry, May 20 -- Some interesting events unfolded on Wednesday when 28 newly elected took oath as members of the Puducherry Territorial Assembly on Wednesday.
Pro-tem speaker A Anbazhagan administered the oath of affirmation to the new MLAs in the 30-member house, which came down toa total of 29 after Chief Minister and AINRC Founder-President N Rangasamy resigned one of the two seats he won in the April nine elections.
A Neyam Makkal Kazhagam MLA elected from Orleanpet Nehru read out a sentence which was not part of the text given to the members for taking oath and the Pro-tem speaker immediately expunged it from the assembly records.
